Carricature of JyBy on Unicycle (in copper)

In 2008, I had some caricature of myself drawn by Claudio, an artist from the "Plaza de Armas" in Santiago of Chile. 4 years later, Claudio's neighbours, Alberto and Ivan Navarette, adapted his caricature in copper! The caricature feature several traits that I was showing at the time at the Plaza (I came several time unicycling or with some juggling stuff, dressed in rainbow colours and Claudio knows that I like dragons) and of Santiago, with the Andes in the background, and the high towers of Santiago. I love the caricature and its copper adaptation!

Unicycling Club Hipico

Un avantage de vivre plus pres, c'est que je peux de nouveau aller au travail en monocycle! (11mns au lieu de 15mns en marchant)

One advantage of living closer to work, I can again go every day unicycling!( 11mns instead of 15mns walking)

Winter Unicycling

Comme la piscine pres de mon appartement est toujours fermée (trois mois en tout!), je suis parti à la recherche d'une autre piscine. Commme il faisait soleil et que j'avais besoin de me détendre, j'ai sorti le monocycle :)

As the swimming pool close to my place is announcing one additional month of waiting before reopening (it has been two months already!), I went in search of another swimming pool nearby. As it was sunny and I wanted to have some fun, I took out the unicycle for a ride ;)

Como la piscina de Ñuñua todavia es cerrada (tres meses!), me fue a buscar una otra piscina cerca. Como habia sol y que yo necesita reir un poco, sali con el monociclo :)

J'ai trouvé la piscine qu'on m'avait recommandé: trop loin pour marcher, et je ne m'imagine pas en revenir en monocycle apres 2kms de nage. But la ballade était agréable, et le parc d'à coté avait des arbres interessants!

I found the swimming pool: it is too far to go walking, and I don't see myself riding the unicycle back from it after 2kms of swimming. But the ride was fun, and the park nearby had interesting trees!

Encontré la piscina, pero es demasiado lejo de mi departamento para caminar, y no me imagino volviendo en uniciclo despues de 2kms de natacion. Pero la salida fue agradable, y el parque cerca de la piscina tenia arboles interesantes!

Je vais continuer à chercher une bonne piscine. Il y en a une près de mon bureau: peut-être que j'amenerai le monocycle a l'université pour faire l'aller retour ;)

I am still searching for a good swimming pool. There is one not to far from my office: maybe I will bring the unicycle to the university and go on it to the swimming pool ;)

Todavia busco una buena piscina, cercana de mis lugares. Hay una cerca de la oficina: quizas traere el monocyclo a la universidad para hacer el camino ;)

[Unicycle] Shopping at St Jacob's market

St Jacob's market is very nice, and not far. When driving a car, you are there in 7mns. A long time ago, I went there on Rollerblades, the road is not great (no sidewalks) and once inside you need shoes. Today I went there on the unicycle: it was a lot of fun!

The first thing is, I don't know what's the distance from my place, but it took me a while to come back, something like 45 mns. I wonder if this is good enough a reason to buy a new unicycle with a much larger wheel ;) The second thing is, because it is taking so much time to go there, it is not reasonable to buy meat, or at least not too much of it (which is a pity because the meat is much better there), nor fragile fruits. And last but not least, my carrier capacity is quite limited: I am not good enough on the unicycle to carry things other than in my backpack. I will try with a larger backpack next week, but then the weight might be too much for my balance!

Anyway it was a lot of fun, going to the market doing sport in the sun rather than in the car gives it a totally different spirit. It made me want to relax, and buy more small crappy things, like another CD of harmonica (the guy selling it was playing aver nice accordion), or such as those those 6 small dragons that I am supposed to attach to the laces of my shoes :)

This afternoon, I will drive to Conestoga to complete my shopping. I will also try to find those shoes with little wheel on the heal: children have it all over Waterloo now, and a friend told me that they should have the same for adults there now: I want a pair! And, to be able to take a picture of my new shoes, I will have a look and maybe buy a digital camera... We'll see!
