I have two amazing graduate students, Carlos and Javiel.
I did some glasses for them in the past, but I wanted for a long time to etch some coffee mugs.
I found some cups one year ago, and confirmed with them that they were the adequate size for their coffee intakes.
And then I did nothing, because I did not have the time, because I did not feel inspired (the cups are smallish, which makes challenging to try to draw something more interesting than just their name), because I was waiting for them to get their first publication...
But finally I made them, and I am quite happy of the result:
That will be their Christmas present, I hope they will like it!

[Art] Gigantic Glass for Renzo

Renzo
Renzo was my Teaching Assistant for the course about "Pedagogical Animations", and got so involved in it (and in other projects where I was involved but not leading) that it affected his academic performance, to the point that he had to change department, and to "cut down" on extra-academic projects for a while.
Several times in the past he (apologized for this "cut back" and) manifested his gratitude (he offered me the first gold medal that he won in a swimming competition). A few months ago he announced that he would graduate soon, and commented that he had lost the glass that I had etched for him when he was a TA.
Last week he invited me to his graduation ceremony, which is this afternoon. It was hard finding both the time and a glass that I liked, but I finally did and etched this gigantic one (it is actually a jar ;)) with a victorious penguin on it, and I will bring my tools the event in the hope that others of his friends will want to sign it too!

[Drawing] Penguin 200
One year ago I designed a new Tee-shirt for the hash, based on a running penguin. Fer made her own design for the celebration of the 200 th hash in May, with a happier penguin.
I liked it a lot and wanted to learn how to draw it : here are my tentatives. I am not there yet but I made some progress!

[Art] Hush Bandana
I painted a Hush Penguin on a bandana:
I like it, but it is a bit too large to put in my hair: I will have to make another design, using less height, to be able to fold four times the bandana.
It works well to hide the face though ;)
I also have pending a mug that I want to etch with the same drawing: another day!
